Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

The Dodgers came back from losing the first game of the series to win the last two and move their NL West lead back to four games, while also giving the Rockies their first home loss in two months.
Vincente Padilla, in his first start as a Dodger and his first in three weeks, went five innings, giving up just two runs to pick up the win. He allowed two runs to score in the third to tie the game, but shut the Rockies down for his next two innings. Kuo, Troncoso, and Sherrill worked out of the ‘pen before Broxton picked up the save.
Matt Kemp gave the Dodgers a quick lead with a two-run homerun in the first inning. De La Rosa then shut the offense down until the sixth, when Rafael Furcal knocked in Orlando Hudson with an RBI-single.
The Dodgers continue their road trip to Cincinnati for a weekend series. Chad Billingsley will make the start Friday and take on Homer Bailey. Billingley has a 1.59 ERA against the Reds at their home park, and an even lower overall career against them. Bailey is 3-4 with a 6.82 ERA and has yet to earn in a win this month.
