Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

This was a beat down as Jason Schmidt took it on the chin. He gave up six runs (five earned) on seven hits and two walks with two strikeouts in just two innings of work. The pen did a nice job with Mark Hendrickson giving up just one run in five innings but the deficit was too much to come back from.
There wasn’t much from the offense as Jake Peavy pretty much shut things down. Nomar Garciaparra had two hits and Russ Martin singled, scored a run and drove in one in the 7-2 loss.
Tonight is Jackie Robinson day and the Dodgers will be on prime time (at least on the east coast) as they play in the rubber game on ESPN. Randy Wolf gets the start and he’ll take on Chris Young.
