Padres 7, Dodgers 4 (34-27)
Tim Leary had a tough time and he took the loss as the Dodgers dropped their first of two against the Padres. Leary fell to 5-5 and he gave up five runs on six hits and three walks with three strikeouts in five innings. Tim Crews was also knocked around and he gave up two runs in his three innings of relief.
Steve Sax went two for four with a walk and a run. Sax was also the starting point for two double plays. Hamilton went two for four and he drove in a run.

Padres 4, Dodgers 3 (34-28)
A solid start by Don Sutton went to waste as the Dodgers were swept in their doubleheader with the Padres. Sutton gave up just two runs (one earned) on four hits and six walks with a strikeout in five innings. Holton was then bounced for two runs in his two innings of relief and he fell to 2-1 on the season.
John Shelby and Rick Dempsey both went yard with solo shots in the loss. Shelby finished the game one for two with two walks and two runs.
