Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past
[powered by WordPress.]
There isn’t much to report about the Dodgers in yesterday’s game, considering they were held to just one run on two hits as Padres ace Jake Peavy threw a full nine innings with eight strikeouts. Peavy’s career record against the Dodgers moves to 10-1 with a 2.21 ERA.
The only hits that the Dodgers could muster off of the reigning NL Cy Young winner came from Furcal and Loney. Juan Pierre took the start in left, with Ethier in right, above struggling Matt Kemp who has just two hits on the season.
Brad Penny was shook up in the first inning, giving up four runs on six hits. He ended up going six innings, giving up 10 hits total. Blame it on lack of an ample warm-up? Penny then held the Padres to four hits in the next five innings, before Joe Beimel and Ramon Troncoso worked the final two innings.
The team goes for the series win today at 1PM. Derek Lowe will take on Chris Young.
