June 6, 1988 at Dodger Stadium
Astros 10, Dodgers 4  (30-22)

A solid start by Don Sutton went to waste as the Dodgers dropped their series opener with the Astros.  When Sutton left after six innings, the Dodgers had a 2-1 lead and then the pen yielded nine runs in the final three frames.  Tim Crews was hit the hardest and he gave up five runs in just one inning of work.

Kirk Gibson was the hitting star in the loss.  He went two for four with a double, a homerun and two RBIs.  The long ball was hit tenth of the season.
