The Dodgers close their short series with the Dbacks on Thursday at 7:10pm.
Chad Billingsley will again look for his first win of the season, facing RHP Edgar Gonzalez, who is also winless in three starts. In his last start in Atlanta, Billingsley was strong in his first four with nine strikeouts, but was roughed up in the fifth and took the loss. If Billingsley is able to command control when in a jam, and if he receives decent run support, he should be able to get his first win of the season and a series sweep for the Dodgers.
Andy LaRoche began his minor league rehab assignment today at Double-A Jacksonville. The rehab assignment will likely keep him on schedule to return in mid-May.
Jason Schmidt had his first bullpen session earlier this week, throwing 48 pitches from the mound. A few more bullpen sessions will hopefully allow Schmidt to begin a minor league rehab assignment in the coming weeks.
