Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

Jason Schmidt is approaching his 30-day rehab assignment limit and has endured another injury that will likely set his date of return back.
He pitched for Class A Inland Empire on Saturday and was smoked in the left calf off a line drive, but still remained in the game to complete 3 2/3 innings.
Schmidt’s 30-day limit for his shoulder injury would be June 10, but his new calf injury could allow him to throw more Minor League starts before returning with the team. He is expected to join the Dodgers tomorrow or Wednesday for a brief bullpen session.
The date of return for Rafael Furcal still remains a question. He hit a few on Sunday but will still need to make a few rehab starts before rejoining the team. This season, the Dodgers are 18-14 in games started by Furcal and suffer a 9-15 record in the 24 games that Furcal has missed.
