Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

Jason Schmidt made the unexpected start on Sunday, and fanned three of the first six batters he faced. He gave up two runs in the second and was pulled in the third after giving up another run. Sturtze and Threets finished the inning but not before the Padres knocked in two more runs. Kuo, Wade, Lindblom and Troncoso all relieved, with Kuo giving up a run and the rest holding the Padres hitless.
Matt Kemp got the Dodgers on board in the fourth with a two-run homerun. Other than that the Padres’ staff held the Dodger bats quiet as they took a 7-3 loss.
Chad Billingsley also pitched a simulated game today, and said he felt “great” after throwing 65 pitches.
The Dodgers will face the A’s on Monday, with Clayton Kershaw facing lefty Brett Anderson.
