The Dodgers open a homestand with the Mets tonight. The Mets were scheduled to throw Nelson Figueroa, but will instead start Oliver Perez. Perez is 2-2 this season, and is coming off a loss in his last outing against Pittsburgh, giving up seven runs before being pulled in the second inning.

The team looks to start another win streak comparable to the eight game streak that was snapped by Colorado on Sunday. The team offensive leader for the stretch was Matt Kemp, who earned the NL Player of the Week. He beat out teammates Rafael Furcal and Juan Pierre, who were also nominated this week. In Kemp’s last nine games, he batted .410 with 16 RBIs. He has batted almost exactly the same, .414 with 10 RBIs, in his career against the Mets while at Dodger Stadium.
