Tonight’s Preview, Updates

by @ 2:21 pm. Filed under 2008 Dodgers

The Dodgers will face the Rockies for the first time this season, opening up a three game series tonight at home at 7:40.

The Dodgers, Rockies, and Giants have all been teetering between the second, third, and fourth place spots in the NL West, so this series is key for the Dodgers to make some ground to place themselves above the Rockies and closer to the first place Dbacks.

Tonight’s matchup is Hiroki Kuroda and Ubaldo Jimenez. Both are 1-2 on the season.

Other Updates:

Blake DeWitt was sent to Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday to end his replacement for Nomar at third base. In his 18 day run, DeWitt batted .255 with 5 RBI and one error on defense. The roster move made room for right handed reliever Cory Wade from Double-A Jacksonville. Wade made his MLB debut last night, pitching a scoreless ninth inning with one strikeout.

Tony Abreu has joined the team in LA, but has not and will not be activiated for at least another couple weeks, after a Minor League rehab assignment to prove he his healthy.
