Nomar went 3 for 3 with a walk last night for Las Vegas. He is still on schedule to return to the team for their roadtrip this Friday. That would likely send Blake DeWitt back to the minors after batting .256 as a third base replacement.

Andy LaRoche also made progress in his recovery, as he was fielding and throwing grounders yesterday. LaRoche is scheduled to have an extended spring training in Vero Beach in the next week or two before starting a rehab assignment with one of the minor league teams.

The Dodgers have their second game of the series with the Pirates tonight at 7:10, after a brief pregame ceremony to honor Jackie Robinson on this 61st anniversary. All players on both teams will wear Robinson’s #42 for the game.

Hong-Chih Kuo, the new fifth starter for the Dodgers, will face RHP Matt Morris who is 0-1 with a 5.25 ERA this season.
