Updates, Tonight’s Preview

by @ 11:41 am. Filed under 2008 Dodgers

The Dodger’s look for a win against Arizona tonight at 6:40.

Chad Billingsley will make his first start of the season after being called upon for two unplanned relief outings. He has a lifetime 4-1 record and 2.36 ERA against the Dbacks.

The Dbacks will start LHP Doug Davis, who is 0-1 on the season and 3-2 lifetime against the Dodgers. This will be Davis’ last start before he undergoes surgery on Thursday to remove a cancerous thyroid tumor.

Torre has assured Matt Kemp that he will start after sitting three games. The lefty Davis should be a better matchup than veteran RHP Haren would’ve been to pull Kemp out of his slump.

….Other Updates….

Nomar took BP before yesterday’s game. Torre estimates a possible rehab assignment for him by this weekend.

The Dodgers have also made a trade with the Red Sox, dealing minor leaguer RHP Eric Hull for young shortstop Christian Lara, who has played in Class A this season.
